According to the IGN E3 schedule, another Microsoft title is going to be annouced tomorrow at 2:00 PM PST. Rare has been a no show so far and I think this is a good indication that we will hear from them tomorrow. As I predicted, this is Microsoft’s way of fighting Sony’s conference hype. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!

Update: No annoucements at the conference! In fact, no Rare games were shown at all. Maybe they’ll try to steal Sony’s thunder by annoucing a game tomorrow? Stay Tuned.

Microsoft’s E3 conference is scheduled for today and anything could happen. They have really hyped up the show this year and some big things are expected. If any Perfect Dark news drops, I will be reporting everything I can find. I am very confident we will, at the very least, see an announcement for the next installation to the series. Here is when it all goes down:Monday June 1st, 2009

10. Enhanced multiplayer.
Multiplayer has always been Perfect Dark’s strength and that should be no different for the next game in the series. The original game had a plethora of options which were sorely missing from Perfect Dark Zero. Bot personalities should be available from the start with all the options from previous games. Give us KazeSims, FeudSims, PeaceSims and the works. We fondly remember enabling various types of simulants (not to be confused with stimulants) to ensue hilarity and unpredictable battles. Past modes need to make an appearance as well. Hold the Briefcase and Hacker Central could prove to be quite interesting in today’s online world. Of course, we fully welcome Rare’s creative ideas for new gameplay modes. Infection should make a return as no one has quite captured the greatness of this mode. We appreciate the direction Rare took with Darkops mode in Perfect Dark Zero and hope they continue development with this style. However, do not compromise the classic style deathmatch that we have grown to love. There is a place for both in the Perfect Dark universe !9. Give grenade its own button.
The grenade is a weapon that needs to be readily available. You cannot use one properly when it takes more than 5 seconds to execute a throw. It is no longer practical, in a first person shooter, to have to switch to a grenade in your inventory before using it. There should be a single button assigned to it. Press that button once and your character should instantly switch to it. People accuse this method of being unrealistic but you can avoid that by having a weapon pull back animation follow by a pin removal animation to slow it down.8. Bring back Elvis.
Elvis, being one of the series most memorable characters, needs to make his return. We loved running along side our little Maian buddy. Actually, bring back the whole alien crew, diversify our interactions and expand on the story presented in the original game. -

A new RARE scribes up for this November which mainly contains an onslaught of Banjo Kazooie questions. A few questions were asked about Perfect Dark but no useful information was given.
When asked if Counter-Operative would be made available for PDZ:
“I am sorry to have to disappoint you, but we made the difficult decision not to implement such a mode during the main phase of the project, since it would have required far too much time to do when we were already under pressure to cut planned content. It would have required much groundwork to be laid in the core AI code, which meant that it was unlikely to be available as downloadable content post-release. The project has long since been wrapped up, and we have no plans to add any more content to Perfect Dark Zero.”
When asked what the setting of the next Perfect Dark would be:
“If and when Rare come to make another Perfect Dark game, rest assured we will consider placing it before, after or during the timelines of either one of the existing games.”
It was also said that there are no current plans to bring the original Perfect Dark game to Xbox Live Arcade.

Rare has donated signed Perfect Dark and Kameo posters for the Power of 360 fundraiser. The fundraiser is attempting to collect at least 360 donations of $6.12 to fight cancer. Only 20 more days left, so help out humanity and donate! -
Surfer girl, infamous rumor blog, has claimed to see Perfect Dark 2 behind closed doors. This is what she had to say:
From what I’ve seen, the sequel to Perfect Dark on Xbox 360 is going to right a few wrongs with the first, but it’s really too early to tell if Rare can deliver a shooter to really live up to it’s glory days. One thing I can tell you: the art is infinitely better – though that wouldn’t be hard.
What else was behind closed doors at E3?
Let’s just say that it wasn’t a light shower…
